There is something about being in the woods away from existence that soothes the soul. This past weekend, I went up to my parents' cabin. Two days of no TV or internet, but just the cool winter air. From hiking through the woods, to cross country skiing, it is just what the doctor ordered for a stressed out college student. I recommend all of you to give it a try!

Isn't that just perfect? My parents have a cottage too, and I'm looking forward to taking a little break to do all of those same things.
Our family has a cabin in nothern Wisconsin as well and it is always a relaxing trip either summer or winter. I like going up to our cabin during the winter most. It is always so beautiful and quite. Going cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and making snow angels is always a blast. There is always that chance though during the winter to get completely snowed in since you are so isolated from towns.
Hey colby...I like the blog.
My family doesn't have a cabin...that is just how far into the middle of nowhere I grew up. I have to go home every once in a while just to see stars, ride a horse, go ice skating on or ponds, and just spend time with my family. Wow I just made it sound like I grew up on "Little House on the Prairie."
